We are your hosts, Linda and Dillard Smallwood. We truly want you to enjoy every aspect of your stay and experience simple living, nature, and rest! As host, we will do everything to serve you to the best of our ability.

We are always available for questions and concerns. We welcome you with open arms and pray for much love, peace, and enjoyment at the Mountain of Rest.

We have four children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. My husband Dillard is a retired logger.  I am the jailer here in Clay County.  I've worked at the jail for 22 years and currently serving on my 3rd term as jailer.

These cabins were a dream that he went after. We now have three cabins. Lots of hard work has been done to make his dream come true.

Mountain of rest is connected to our home property. It is located at the foot of a mountain. Your vehicle will be parked in a safe place.

Grateful to Serve

Manchester, KY

Located in Manchester, this cabin is in a rural area and in the mountains. While the natural beauty of Combs Lake and Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Big Hickory Golf Course. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hunting and hiking/biking trails nearby.
